Quantum Measurement Engineer
Description
ConScience is a growing deep-tech company working at the forefront of superconducting quantum technology and advanced nanofabrication. We develop and manufacture quantum devices and technologies that support research and innovation across the quantum ecosystem.
We’re looking for a Quantum Measurement Engineer to join our team in Gothenburg. In this hands-on role, you’ll work directly with superconducting quantum devices, from setting up and troubleshooting experiments to analyzing measurements and evaluating device performance. You’ll play an important part in developing reliable measurement methods and turning experimental results into meaningful insights.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers, contributing to both R&D and commercial projects and helping advance the performance and understanding of our quantum devices.
Responsibilities:
Set up, conduct, troubleshoot, analyze, and interpret experimental measurements of superconducting quantum devices
Characterize and calibrate quantum devices and circuits and evaluate key device-performance parameters
Develop and improve measurement protocols and experimental methods for device characterization
Develop scientific software, measurement, and data-analysis workflows
Analyze experimental data, identify trends and sources of error
Prepare and handle samples, including mounting and basic hardware assembly
Contribute to reliable and reproducible measurement procedures and laboratory workflows
Document experimental methods, results, and conclusions clearly
Collaborate closely with the team and communicate technical results to colleagues, collaborators, and clients
Requirements:
MSc in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, computer science, quantum engineering, nanotechnology, or another relevant STEM field
Hands-on experience independently setting up, conducting, troubleshooting, and interpreting experimental measurements
Experience with scientific programming and data analysis
Comfortable with practical laboratory work, including sample handling, mounting, and basic hardware assembly
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in an interdisciplinary team
Good written and spoken English
Meritorious Qualifications:
You do not need to have experience in all of the areas below. Experience in one or more is considered an advantage:
Superconducting qubits, Josephson-junction devices, or other cryogenic quantum devices
Qubit characterization and calibration
Two-qubit gate calibration and characterization
Multi-qubit devices or larger superconducting quantum circuits and architectures
Dilution refrigerators and cryogenic measurement setups
RF/microwave measurements and instrumentation
Automated experimental measurement and data-analysis workflows
Design of superconducting qubits or other superconducting circuits
RF/microwave device packaging and integration
Noise, decoherence, and crosstalk in superconducting quantum devices
